Tom Bennett has been interested in collecting information on Shipwrecks ever since 1970 when he started diving on wrecks in Wales, UK.  He became obsessed with both collecting data and identifying the names of the ships that were being discovered.  When Underwater Archaeology was in its infancy, Tom was a British Sub Aqua Club instructor showing others how to lay grid lines over a wreck site and how to research and conserve the artifacts found.  He has written a variety of books on shipwrecks and published only a fraction of the data collected.  Between living in Wales and now residing in the Philippines, Tom spent five years sailing the seven seas in cruising yachts.  He has sailed thousands of miles solo, and has cruised around most coastlines of the world from Greenland to the Great Barrier Reef.
